Sustainable Rural Development Project (SRDP)
Bukhara and Navoi Regions
The Joint Project Implementation Unit (JPIU) under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan announces the launch of the competitive selection process for two Project Assistants to the Regional Coordinator — for the Sustainable Rural Development Project (SRDP, PQ-5246/2021), financed by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the OPEC Fund for International Development (Loan No. 14901P). The positions are based in the Bukhara and Navoi regions.
Expected services include:
– Conducting regular field visits to construction and reconstruction sites to verify the actual status of works against approved implementation schedules;
– Recording field inspection results using standard JPIU formats (photo reports, inspection acts, deficiency registers);
– Collecting and performing primary verification of physical and financial progress data for each facility within the area of responsibility;
– Preparing draft letters, internal memoranda and progress reports at the direction of the Regional Coordinator;
– Maintaining an up-to-date database of project facilities: contract status, completion dates and volumes of work performed;
– Compiling consolidated progress tables (SVOD) by project performance indicators for submission to JPIU headquarters;
– Assisting the Regional Coordinator in monitoring contractors' and suppliers' compliance with contract terms;
– Maintaining a register of claims, notifications and correspondence with contractors;
– Participating in coordination meetings and working sessions at district and regional levels;
– Performing other tasks assigned by the Regional Coordinator within the scope of project implementation.
Qualification requirements:
– University degree in management, economics, civil engineering, public administration or a related field;
– At least 2 years of professional experience in project implementation, construction, infrastructure, government programmes or administrative support of projects;
– Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with electronic document management systems is an advantage;
– Uzbek — fluent; Russian — fluent (working language); English — basic level (desirable).
Additional advantages:
– previous experience with JPIU or a similar PIU/PMU;
– experience in preparing progress reports for IFI-financed projects.
