The issue of assessment of digital development in rural areas was the key topic of the regular meeting organized within the framework of the Sustainable Rural Development Project in cooperation with the Joint Project Implementation Unit under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The round table was attended by responsible officials of ministries and agencies on information technologies, as well as representatives of leading IT companies and donor organizations.
At the event, a group of UNDP specialists and representatives of a research company presented plans to assess and develop the existing information technology infrastructure in rural areas, recommendations on the digitalization of workplaces, recommendations on the application of digital solutions in Uzbekistan, taking into account existing problems and experience of developed countries. Opinions were also expressed on the digitalization processes taking place in the country and plans to be implemented in the field of digitalization in the country by 2030.
