Environmental and Social Safeguards requirements reviewed at social infrastructure facilities being implemented in Bukhara Region

The Ministry of Economy and Finance’s Sustainable Rural Development Project is being implemented in 5 districts of Bukhara region. Currently, reconstruction and major repair works are ongoing at 77 social infrastructure facilities within the framework of the project.

Staff members of the Joint Projects Implementation Unit conducted monitoring activities at construction sites to assess compliance by contracting organizations with environmental and social safeguards requirements. During the review, particular attention was paid to compliance with environmental and social standards throughout the construction process, as well as to the existence of any complaints or grievances from residents living near the subproject implementation areas.
