Within the framework of the Sustainable Rural Development project implemented by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of the Islamic Development Bank and the OPEC Fund for International Development, construction, renovation, and landscaping works are currently ongoing in several mahallas of Shofirkon district in Bukhara region.
As part of this initiative, projects are being implemented in the fields of education, healthcare, drinking water supply, roads, and other infrastructure sectors. In particular, educational institutions are being upgraded in the mahallas of Mirzoqul, Khorkash, Tezguzar, Durmon and others. Special emphasis is placed on the development of the education sector and the modernization of preschool and general education institutions.
In accordance with Presidential Resolution No. PD-5246 dated September 18, 2021, the project includes not only the rehabilitation of existing infrastructure but also the construction of additional academic buildings and sports facilities to ensure safe, modern, and inclusive learning environments.
Due to ongoing population growth, demand for early childhood education has increased significantly in Tezguzar mahalla. In response to requests from residents and parents, a project for the construction of a new preschool facility with a capacity of 90 children was developed last year.
Currently, Tezguzar mahalla comprises 1,030 households with a population exceeding 5,000 residents. Approximately 185 children remain without access to preschool education. The construction of the new facility will help address this gap, expand enrollment, and improve access to early childhood education services.
The project includes the construction of an additional building as a branch of State Preschool Organization No. 20, with a total estimated cost of UZS 3.4 billion. Construction works are currently being carried out by the contractor, while district authorities are ensuring ongoing supervision to maintain quality standards and timely implementation.
