Kogon: The “Sarayon” Mahalla center put into operation

The mahalla is a cradle of upbringing and kindness. To say that it is a small Homeland within the greater Homeland would not be an exaggeration. The mahalla is a place of mercy and goodness, a cradle of spirituality that passes national values and traditions from ancestors to descendants. In line with the noble principle of “A New Perspective in the New Uzbekistan,” special attention is paid in Kogon district to strengthening the material and technical base of mahalla self-governing bodies and creating the necessary conveniences and conditions for their activities at a proper level.

In particular, on the eve of the 34th anniversary of our country’s Independence, the building of the “Sarayon” Mahalla center was put into operation, which became a double celebration for the mahalla administration and local residents. The official opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Khokim of the region Hafiza Artikova, Khokim of the district Otabek Kazakov, other responsible officials, public representatives, elders, and residents of the mahalla.

According to tradition, the elders visited households with blessings and prayed for well-being, peace in the country, and a clear sky.
Speakers at the ceremony noted that the modern, beautiful mahalla building had become a source of pride for the local community. They emphasized that in recent years, active work has been carried out in our country to further develop the institution of the mahalla and turn it into a truly people’s institution.

After the symbolic cutting of the red ribbon by honored workers, the attendees familiarized themselves with the facilities created for mahalla employees and residents.

The new mahalla building has separate rooms for the mahalla chairperson, the assistant to the district khokim in the mahalla, the youth leader, the female activist, and the prevention inspector. Each is equipped with modern material and technical equipment and furniture. Of particular note is the beautiful building, which consists of three floors and a basement: the first floor houses separate barbershops and a retail store for men and women; the second floor mainly accommodates training centers, a vocational guidance center, and a fitness hall; and the third floor hosts a sewing workshop, a dry-cleaning room, and an IT center for the meaningful leisure of young people.

For reference: this mahalla building was constructed by experienced builders of LLC “G‘ijduvon Tekstroy Progress Plus” for almost 4.5 billion soums, based on the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 18, 2021, “On measures for the implementation of the project “Sustainable Rural Development” with the participation of the Islamic Development Bank and the OPEC Fund for International Development.”
