A two-day training session was recently held for representatives of district khokimiyats’ information services in Kashkadarya region – one of the target areas of the Integrated Rural Development Project.
The event brought together press officers and communication specialists from across the region and focused on strengthening their skills in public relations, social media strategy, and photojournalism. Participants explored key topics such as building a positive public image of local authorities, modern PR tools, and common mistakes in communications, with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning and practical application.
This training builds on similar workshops previously conducted in Surkhandarya and Samarkand regions, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance communication capacity at the local level.
The initiative is jointly implemented by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Development Programme, with financial support from the Islamic Development Bank.
According to Presidential Decree No. PD-141 dated March 28, 2024, the second phase of the Integrated Rural Development Project covers 21 districts across Kashkadarya, Samarkand, and Surkhandarya regions.
By enhancing the professional skills of information officers, the project aims to improve transparency, foster greater public engagement, and strengthen the role of local authorities in communicating with communities.
